Now on with the story. 
 Note: This takes place in my own little universe and doesn't
really apply to the usual stories. But it will have Sonic and 
Sally and the rest of the group in the next chapter or the one 
after. 
          
           THE BEGINING OF AN ADVENTURE!

  Diamond Amber, D.A. for short, the Echidna had never been to 
the Floating Island though she had been told she was born there.
  Not that she cared. Her parents were there. 
  She hated them. 
  They had abandoned her. Though at times she was glad. After
all she would not have met her mentor Shan or his daughter 
Shadow if they hadn't. 
  Still sitting on the mountain side watching the Island 
silhouetted by the setting sun she wished she was there.
  "Diamond, D.A., Amber, Hey you listening to me?"
  D.A. snapped out of her reflection on life as Shadow was 
shaking her rather violently.
  "WHAT"
  "Nothing" Shadow said letting D.A.'s shoulders go "I just 
wanted attention"
  "They be betta ways a gettin' attintion girl" D.A. said 
looking as the last flaming streams of sunset went over the 
horizon plunging the day into night.
  "Maybe" Shadow shrugged.
  Shadow was an attractive girl she was half fox half wolf.
She had black fur with gray highlights, and green eyes that 
glowed when the light hit them. She wore a green head band, a 
green jean vest, and brown hiking boots. Shadow had gained her
name by the fact she could shadow you for hours before you'd 
notice. She was also an accomplished fighter and marksman with
a bow and arrow, especially for 13 years old.
  Diamond Amber was also attractive. She had been raised by 
Shadows father and was like a sister to Shadow, or Shad as she
called her. D.A. was an Echidna she had a golden yellow fur and
blue eyes that turned purple when she was angry. (Which was 
quite a lot) She wore a blue jacket with white sleeves, white 
gloves, and blue boots with purple trim. D.A. was quite good at
using magic and a good sword fighter. She was 15 and had an 
accent that got worse when she was angry. It made her standard
mobian sound terrible to a native speaker, but you always 
understood her.
  "Is dere a reason you be anoying me, Shad?" D.A. asked
  "Thought you'd like to know Mr. 'I'm better than you' is 
talkin' 'bout you again" Shadow said 
  "Wha he sayin' now?" D.A. said getting up and beginning to 
lose her temper.
  "That your shrikin' your duties as the oldest child to avenge
your fathers death. So I told them since you wasn't his child
by birth it didn't apply to you"
  "He my fader!" D.A. stated clenching her fist.
  "Yeah, I know that. You know that, but you have a more 
important job to my... uh... our father. Get Esmeralda the 
demension hopping soceress freak. She is trouble" Shadow said 
eyes flashing a frightening emerald green. 
  "I get 'er and de murderer." D.A. said looking down 
contemplating telling her something. Then she whispered "They be 
da same."
  "WHAT?" 
  "I sense 'er magic at de murder scene" D.A. looked up at 
Shadow "I need go after 'er"
  "Listen girl your my sister I am going with you like it or not
got it sis" 
  "'Kay. Guess I canna stop ya, but when da we leave?"
  "Easiest question to answer: Tomorrow. The village is leavin' to
go join them Freedom Fighters or whatever. We just don't go with
them." Shadow shrugged. "Now come on sister girl we got a Soceress
to nail to the wall" 
  With a last look at the now nearly invisible Floating Island out
in the sea of midnight. D.A. began to walk after her sister
then looked back. The first star of the night popped out. It was
the brightest star she had ever seen. And since it was the first
she wished upon it: 
  Please help me in the coming struggle.
